Tribal Connection

Tribal Percussion & Belly Dance Classes

Tribal Percussion and Belly Dance classes are held weekly during school term – please visit our Events page on FaceBook and follow our FaceBook page to be kept up-to-date with dates, times and venues. BYO instruments for Percussion class, with some spare drums available for loan for beginners. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before class for registration so that sessions begin on time.

We belong to the Global Caravan Tribal Belly Dance community, first created by Paulette Rees-Denis in USA, with dance teachers and classes now found all over the world. To learn more about GCTB, visit their website.

We invite women of all ages, shapes and sizes (under 14 years of age must be accompanied by a female guardian). No previous dance experience is necessary, and beginners are welcome to join at any time. This is a safe, non-judgemental space to enjoy.

We wear easy flow clothing. Yoga pants or leggings are great to dance in. They allow the dance leader to see what your legs and feet are doing so that she can give you gentle help to get the moves right and to do them safely. We dance with bare feet or dance shoes – no sneakers (too grippy) or socks (too slippy). Bring a water bottle and a journal in case you want to take notes. Add a hip scarf, tribal jewellery and a bit of lippy to help get in the mood. Dress-ups is half the fun!

Class attendance is casual – there is no need to book in advance. You can participate in either class or both. Your weekly investment is $15 (cash or card) at the door per session (either Percussion or Dance), or $25 to attend both the Percussion and Dance Circles. A value-saving option is to purchase a Pass.

  • $135 for 10 Session Pass (can be used for either Percussion or Dance, getting one class free)
  • $225 for a Term Pass (attend all sessions for the 10-week Term)

The Passes are purchasable at the sessions (cash or card).

NOTICE: To meet government regulations on COVID-19 Vaccination and to maintain records of our class participants, all attendees must complete a Dance Participant Registration Form. You can download the form by clicking the button below, to complete and bring the form to your first session. Otherwise, paper copies are available at class sessions.

AromaDance is a combined free-form dance and aromatherapy experience for women (over 14 years of age). It is a beautiful way to awaken your senses and reconnect with your body while you free your mind and open your heart.

Through creative movement and essential oils, you shower healing energy on your body and bring it back into alignment with your mind and spirit. Sessions conclude with a guided relaxation.
You do not need any dance experience to join in with AromaDance. There is no choreography or ‘steps’ to learn or follow – just move your body to our inspirational music playlist in this safe and non-judgemental space.
AromaDance is hosted on dates throughout the year – please see our Bookings Site for details. Wear easy flow, ‘separates’ clothing, so that you can access your chakra points on the body. It is recommended to dance with bare feet. Bring a water bottle and a yoga mat. Your investment is $15 (cash or card) at the door per session or pre-book online.

Tribal Fest in the West

Beck is excited to be involved in Tribal Fest in the West for 2022.

A weekend of fun, dance, music, connection, craft and wellbeing.

Tribal Fest in the West is a fabulously fun Global Caravan Tribal Belly Dance event in honour of the late beautiful Betsy Watkins💚🌿

It is a time to gather the tribes from around Australia to converge on Fremantle WA to celebrate all things music and dance.

In 2022, our festival will be held on the weekend of Friday 30 September to Sunday 2 October at the Croatian Club, Alfred Road, North Fremantle. The highlights will include the evening Soiree with performances from festival teachers and their students, as well as dance workshops facilitated by Australia’s Master Teacher, Nina Martinez.

This year’s theme is Spice Up Your Life!

The event is open to women and men with an interest in Tribal belly dance, musicality, wellbeing and spirituality.

We look forward to connecting with our beautiful GC dance community!
